So thrilled to say we won! Green salon of the year at the UK’s Salon Business awards 2021.
Monday evening at Quaglino’s nightclub in Mayfair.
What a swell party it was.
Managers Jean and Matus were true classy gentlemen but screamed the loudest when we won.
It was great to be rewarded something for 12 years of hairdressing in Notting Hill and nearly 5 years in Putney.
I started Hair Organics as I had been using Daniel Fields organic products for 10 years and just loved the way they felt on my clients hair then I found this run down salon at Notting Hill literally crying out for a makeover.
Brought in my friend Kat as business partner and we just went for it.
It wasn’t even really successful at the start.
The 2009 financial crisis was announced the week we signed the lease.
Staff came and went, the boiler blew up, we paid ourselves nothing and no one would give us the money for a makeover.
Somehow we did it, Gleb, Gill, Tendai and Jean came along and the rest just sort of happened and we started building up.
Then the world changed.

We needed to be sustainable, eco friendly, vegan, gluten free, support climate change, have no plastic, no toxins, no SLS, no parabens, PPD and all of this in a range of natural products in 100% recyclable packaging.
Phew what a mission to be green.
But we are still here and I am very proud of every team member in believing in all these green things.
And now covid safe? We will still be doing all the things that we have put in place and introducing some new and old things as time progress’s.
