Our Colour You Safe Policy
We require all our new clients to have a patch test 48 hours before the on-scalp service. This can take the form of a quick 15-minute in-salon patch test or by requesting our at-home patch testing kit, which will be posted out to you. If after 48 hours there has been no reaction to either form of test, you can be assured that you will not react to our colour products.
This small step is vitally important in protecting your health. Although rare, allergic reactions to chemicals in hair dye can happen. We have seen evidence that people are developing new allergies in recent years
Even if you have been colouring your hair for years you could still be affected. While some minor reactions just cause irritation, more severe allergic responses can lead to swelling, inflammation, and anaphylaxis. In some extreme cases, people have even lost their lives as a result.
At Hair Organics we are committed to putting the safety of our clients first. The danger from hair colour can be completely eliminated by first trialling the product on the skin, 48 hours before the treatment takes place. This is why we have a Colour You Safe Policy and will not perform a colour service if we have any doubts about the result of your skin test. While the risk of an allergic reaction is small, we want to completely eradicate the threat. If you know you are already allergic our formulator Daniel Field can produce a bespoke allergy-free alternative for you, which we would be more than happy to apply in our salons.
Our expert stylists are thoroughly trained to apply colour products safely and always respect the manufacturers’ instructions. Working closely with Daniel Field we carry a number of the most current advances in colour technologies, including PPD and ammonia-free products.
